Wilson Central does the 5
peat!.........WC 39 - MJ 27 The Wildcats
opened the 2008 home campaign with a 5th straight win over Mt Juliet by the
score of 39 - 27. The
offense was balanced 50-50 pass/run with 309 yds total offense. WC
scored the first unanswered 17 points on a Jackson Redditt
FG, a blocked punt return by Cody
Clawson, and a 2 yd run by
Jordan Poole. MJ roared back to score the next 14
points; WC led at halftime 17 - 14. WC received the 2nd half kick-off and
scored on the 2nd play with a 64 yd scoring strike from
Kelton Stewart to
JaJuan Brooks.........24
- 14. Mt. Juliet then took over the game and
dominated the 3rd and most of the 4th quarters taking a
27 - 24 lead. Following a
WC punt with less than 2 minutes to go in the game;
Artavious McMurray made
the "PLAY OF THE GAME" stripping the ball free and recovering the
fumble from the MJ punt returner; four plays later
Kelton Stewart hit
Alex Raines with the 19
yd game winning TD pass. Stewart
put the "icing" on the cake with a 42 yd interception return for the
final score + a 2 pt conversion by

led again by Nathan Rottero
